Description
Higher end small cabinet-sized specimen with a couple of dozen vitreous green "bubbles" (0.8 - 1.2 cm), plus some other "burst bubbles"s showing the fascinating radiating crystal structure . A really good example of the mineral with minimal damage. Shows well. Color is deeper green than most Mt Maulden specimens. Wavellite is a phosphate mineral that forms within fractures in the host Arkansas Novaculite matrix. The overall dimensions are 10.5 x 7.2 x 5.0 cm. The specimen was collected in 1991 from the Montgomery County Quarry near Mt. Ida, Arkansas. 10319
