Nice example of Anorthosite, a rare igneous rock. Has been saw cut on one side, also has a sticker from the previous owners collection which is easily removable.
This rock is sold as "Black Granite" commercially for use as decorative stone, kitchen countertops etc... it is not Granite.
Dark grayish/black Plagioclase feldspar (Labradorite) is the main mineral constituent along with minor amounts of black Biotite Mica, Augite.
Would be a decent classroom/teaching sample when covering Igneous rocks, or for lapidary use.
